Logical Robotics is an independent robotics consulting firm founded by Anthony Francis, a robot navigation researcher with over 25 years of experience in intelligent systems including artificial intelligence, information retrieval, 3D object scanning and visualization, and of course robotics. Anthony’s work has spanned emotional long term memory for robotic configuration, behavior trees for multi-agent coordination, deep reinforcement learning for robot navigation, model predictive control for social robot navigation, embodied AI, and visual-language navigation using foundation models. Logical Robotics provides consulting services in robotics, information retrieval, and artificial intelligence, specializing in developing techniques and benchmarks for navigation problems. About Anthony Francis
Anthony Francis is a roboticist with over twenty-five years experience in computing for intelligent systems, including robotics, information retrieval, 3D object scanning, and more. His work in robotics has spanned emotional long-term memory for robotic configuration to behavior trees for multiagent control to deep reinforcement learning for robot navigation to benchmarking model-predictive control systems for social robot navigation. He and his team were awarded the Best Paper Award for Service Robotics at ICRA 2018 for their work on PRM-RL, a technique combining probabilistic roadmaps with reinforcement learning to achieve reliable long-range navigation.
